It’s the end of an era: Gibson House Press, a literary fiction publisher founded in Chicago, and later moved to Colorado, will close at the end of the year.
Book lovers may continue to purchase our titles through December 31, 2024, wherever books are sold.
We are eternally grateful to the fabulous authors that we were privileged to publish: Junior Burke, Nancy Burke, Amy E. Casey, Ian Morris, Peter Robertson, Suzzy Roche, Esther Yin-ling Spodek, and Courtney Yasmineh.
We are so proud of all Gibson House accomplished. Over a decade, the press successfully:
- Realized a vision to publish literary novels primarily by musicians.
- Published thirteen novels in both paperback original and ebook formats, recently adding audiobooks thorough Apple.
- Moved up through three mainstream distributors and enjoyed a very productive relationship with Publishers Group West (Ingram), distributing titles in North America and internationally.
- Offered unique and excellent titles featuring stories with much to think and talk about, which were shared by many book groups.
- Experienced wonderful events, reviews, and press, and even won some awards.
- Worked with excellent book and cover designers, marketing professionals, and many other generous advisors and consultants, in addition to stellar authors.
Our thanks to all the readers, booksellers, librarians, authors, creatives, and book industry specialists who came into our orbit (especially book marketing guru Mary Bisbee-Beek and designer Karen Sheets, with us every step of the way). Your interest and support meant everything.
Good books forever!
With gratitude,
Deb Robertson
